Why Start A Blog? About Collies?

I guess that is the question. Does anyone really have anything new to say? Probably not but as a writer, I have to do my best and put new thoughts and dreams into words. Even if I am the only person who reads them, they are out there and not inside of me!

In this case, I do have a window of opportunity. I do own or am owned by a family of collies, Cedarchase Collies, that began with Licky and is continuing with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. Although I did begin this with dreams of establishing a line of distinct collies, the collies themselves are also each their own dog. They are pets and we love them. They are a family and they love each other. They are not just genes, and bloodlines, or just  a means to an end.

If you want to know about me and my breeding philosophy, check out: www.geocities.com/cedarchase/About.html . This will tell you the history, the facts and figures and most of the boring stuff most breeders impart on their websites. This blog will be about the dogs, the every day stuff, the real deal about living with collies.

Am I an expert? Well, no, I only know about the collies I have experienced. But I can be truthful and honest about the collies I know and love and maybe it will help others to understand collies too.

As a disclaimer, I am not a scientist, veterinarian, geneticist, or god for that matter. Everything I am writing here is my opinion unless I say otherwise. Anyone reading this or anything else on the web that is not documented science should be aware that most everything is opinion based on limited resources and experiences.

That being said, it doesn't make things here untrue, just maybe not verifiable fact . I have opinions based on my experiences. Your experiences may be different, you may disagree, you may teach me something. That's okay with me. I live to learn especially about collies!

I love this breed with something almost bordering on mania. Just the way I love my kids. I want to see collies forever in my future and my kids future and my grandkids future. This breed is special and perfect and wonderful and I want to be a part of it even if I never bred another litter. If I am able to share even a little of the love I feel, then it will be worth my time.

I hope you enjoy my Cedarchase Collies!
